Angeles City
AngelesCity with Clark International Airport, is now the gateway to Northern Luzon, and the entertainment capital here in the Philippines, if not Asia. On June 15th, 1992, the eruption of Mt. Pinatubo changed the demographics of Angeles with the departure of the U.S. Air Force from Clark. Because of the determination and resilience of the residents Angeles rose like the proverbial Phoenix, and, and with the development of Clark Air Base into an international airport, grows exponentially each year. There are many fine high star hotels and restaurants, offering some of the best value for money in Asia.
Fields Avenue In the Thick of It! World famous for its entertainment reputation, Fields Avenue was possibly named after the original name for the former U.S. base – Clark Field, and grew up beside the main access road, hosting a variety of go-go bars, cocktail bars, discos, hole in the wall shops and eateries for the USAF service personnel. Despite the Pinatubo and the departure of the Americans, Fields has evolved into one of the major entertainment areas in Asia.
