Fil-Am Friendship Highway - "Korea Town"
Running from the Fil-Am Friendship Gate to Clark (now relocated 200 yards west), crossing the Friendship Bridge built to service the main U.S. personel housing subdivisions of Carmenville and Timog Park.
A new shopping and entertainment area quickly occupied the sides of the new road to serve the dollar filled wallets of the military.
Fortunes changed post Pinatubo, but now the area is booming, mostly serving the burgeoning Korean and Japanese expat market.
Lining the highway are Round the Clock Mart, AC! Gym, Valentine & Halla Hotels, Angie's Treasure House has survived in it's original form supplying furnishings to the expat market.
Hyung Jong Korean Restaurant, One Stop Travel, Cold Drop Pub, Sempai Sushi Bar, Kamisama Ichiban Japanese Shop, and the Korean Mart are all conveniently located to catch the homeward trade.
